A Lifelong Love of Film

Famous Wolf Productions ended its first film about thirty years ago, shot with a grainy, hand-held video camera. Captured on the back of that reel was a preschool-aged director’s voice shouting, “Cut!” The director was a fiery one who threw tantrums when his vision wasn’t correctly carried out by the pre-teen and school-aged actors who would much rather goof off than embody their roles. He was passionate, enthusiastic, and talented.

As a young man, he directed a couple of short films during his time at UCF Film School using his cousins as the actors. Once again, it was a family affair. No tantrums now, just a lot of laughter, enthusiasm, and joy. College was a great experience,and he graduated with honors, showing him that he had real potential and that he could really make a mark in film.

As with all film majors, however, there have been setbacks in his career trajectory. In order to pay the bills, he did a stint as a warehouse worker, a fast food employee, a tutor, a schoolteacher, and now he works in IT. I’d say that his ecclectic collection of work experiences is a pretty legit-sounding start to a career in film, don’t you think?
